In case anyone's ever wondered, this is Mom Shupe's kitchen. Can you phathom how many thousands of cookies have been baked here? How many hundreds of casseroles? How many mountains of pancakes? How many tons of ice cream scooped? I can't either. All I can say is, wow, what a lady!:) We spend Dec. 23 at the Shupe's with all 7 boys, 5 wives, 3 grandchildren, 1 Aunt, 1 Uncle, 3 cousins, Mom and Dad, and there simply was no room for the partridge in a pear tree.
You don't realize how many people can fit on one couch until you've been to a Shupe Christmas. You also don't realize how many wrestling matches and how much pain can be inflicted on one couch until you've been to a Shupe Christmas. Yikes! This was the living room after the hills of presents and piles of people were removed. Mom gave this year a theme, Christmas from the Attic. We truly enjoyed opening 100 year old cookbooks, 60 year old toys, treasured Valentines and such, that Mom had recently cleaned out from Jonathan's grandmother's house. The ornaments from the tree are Jonathan's grandparents'...how neat!
That is so special! How neat to look through such treasures and relive your relative's past lives. I keep a box of my Grammy's things to look through once in a while...not often enough.
