Clean Barns

Barns busily scraped clean this week.

Yet manure falls like beautiful, gentle snow...

"The only air nontoxic to humans is grace." Ann Voskamp

"God wants us in communion...not our work." Ann Voskamp

Hearts just can't be made clean, no matter how much we scrape. The odor remains, the stains, the little bits in the air we breathe, pieces behind our crevices we hope no one sees. Who would want these dirty barns?

Jesus.

Hail the perfect Lamb of God
A kingly ransom paid
When You, my Lord, were slain
Love unrivaled here displayed
Calls my heart to praise
The perfect Lamb of God

Communion with our Father, knowing His love unrivaled...that's what we long for this Easter. This life. Oh God help us to know your love anew, your love on the cross. Jesus, we want you.

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.  -Psalm 16:11

I've been thinking a lot this week on words from a speaker I heard last weekend at a Homeschool Educators Conference in Ontario. So deeply encouraging and challenging. Many of the thoughts above are reflections from truth learned last weekend.

  1. This is really special, Angela! What a day! Easter blessings! Christ has risen! He has risen, indeed! And a very happy birthday to my fourth son, Jonathan! That was a fast trip to the hospital 31 years ago - complete with a police escort! Looking forward to seeing you for Easter dinner! What an exciting day!!
