Open to suggestions

So last night we went mud bogging. It was pretty much stinkin awesome as usual! Only this was with a purpose other than to shorten the life of our vehicle's moving parts.....
Angela, as mentioned before, is scheduled to be induced on Monday. She has been receiving all kinds of feedback from "the baby will be born when it is ready," to try bumpy rides, raspberry leaf tea, sex, spicy food.... all kinds of things. So I thought hey, maybe there are some other ideas out there people think would work. Sister-in-law Nicole is having tons of fun with this, and has even suggested that our house is too cold and that maybe we should turn the heat up cause the baby is probably scared to come out knowing how cold we have always kept the house:). Hehe.
Sooooo, what do you think? Any advice? I like the advice so far:)......

I've heard that castor oil can be effective in speeding up labor and this worked for a friend...after labor had already started. But it has other digestive system side effects too.

  2. Well, I did ride my bike and went into labor that night, but I wouldn't advise it without a partner since you are a little topsy-turvy.

  3. no experience trying to hurry things up here...since both of ours came early, but i've been told about the mudboggin and castor oil (possibly in conjunction with one another...)

  4. Lots of sex is definitively the answer Mr. Shupe, you'll just have to trust me on this one :-) - although the mud bogging idea was certainly creative (but what are Californians who live in the desert supposed to do without a mud puddle anywhere in sight?) All the best guys!!

  5. I wouldn't take anything internally that might effect the baby's digestive system too. The baby will come when God wants it to. So keep praying and forget the other stuff is my advice.

A girl from work says to get a pedicure because there are pressure points when massaged which can cause one to go into labor. And your toes will look really pretty:)

  8. hmmmm, I think we only have Pennzoil around here, maybe I will have to go to town to pick up some Castroil. I wonder if synthetic AMSoil would work....;)
You know Kraig, someone else told me that today too...:)
    Great feedback! any other advice?

as for the doctor, if she says she's out for the weekend, and pushes you back, why don't you say that you are out for the following week and you'll contact her if something comes up (or out)?

  10. Yeah, Ben and I have heard the sex suggestion and walking. However, if mud bogging doesn't work, then I doubt walking will. Actually, I have heard the sex suggestion is for the whole pregnancy because it uses the same muscles you will need to push and makes them strong. Did mom have long labors or short ones? It would be a double whammy if the little one is late and then takes forever to get out when your really working at it. I think you will just have to pray and take care of yourself in the meantime. Either way we have a "push prize" for you when we see you next weekend.

    Love,
    Melissa

  11. Castor oil was the first thing that came to my mind as well. Although, make sure you know what you're doing. I've heard the stuff is potent (Mussolini used castor oil to torture political dissidents).

Sex is definitely a more appealing option.

  12. Thanks for the advice everyone:). Yeh Kelly I agree, but I think the Pennzoil worked better:) Or maybe it was Angela jumping off the porch Saturday afternoon, or maybe a combo of everything, or maybe it was just God's time, or maybe all of the above, probably that.:)
